On Thursday, the ACC announced its preseason poll, as voted on by the league’s media at this week’s ACC Tip Off in Charlotte.

The Panthers earned ninth out of 15 ACC teams in the preseason poll. In addition, Pitt senior forward Blake Hinson was listed as a projected member of the All-ACC Second Team, along with Judah Mintz, Nijel Pack, Tyrese Proctor, and Quinten Post. The first team consisted of Kyle Filipowski, Armando Bacot, PJ Hall, Reece Beekman, and Norchad Omier. Duke’s Filipowski led all players with 35 votes for the ACC Preseason Player of the Year award. Preseason Rookie of the Year went to Elliott Cadeau, a guard who plays for UNC.

Pitt freshman Carlton Carrington also earned one vote for Preseason Rookie of the Year.

Carrington is a 6-foot-5 combo guard from Baltimore who joins the Panthers alongside fellow freshman four-star Jaland Lowe and transfer guard Ishmael Leggett.

This is a little high imo. They’re not throwing a bunch of 24 year olds out there (except for Hinson) and the ACC is a lot better. And Capel’s not going to steal any wins with the X’s and O’s

9 .. not that great but w/o seeing them play, probably not a bad spot. just think how syracuse, l-ville and FSU must feel.
