WATCH: Blake Hinson Opens Pitt Basketball Season with Logo Triple

Published

on

The half court logo is a familiar spot for Blake Hinson.

Pitt’s veteran forward started the season with a bang by splashing home the Panthers’ first points of the year facing North Carolina A&T. The shot was the first by any Panther and came on the very first possession 15 seconds into action.

In front of a packed Oakland Zoo inside the Petersen Events center, Hinson helped guide Pitt by scoring seven of the first nine points.

Hinson was named Preseason All-ACC Second Team after averaging a team-best 15.3 points along with 6.0 rebounds and 97 triples in 36 games (25 starts). The 6-foot-8 forward enters his second season in Pittsburgh after transferring from Iowa State. Hinson tested the NBA Draft waters but opted to return to Pitt for his senior season.
