Die-Hards: ESPN NBA Draft Analyst Jonathan Givony Gets First Look at Bub Carrington, Recaps Practice

Pitt has a massive opportunity in front of itself in Brooklyn on Wednesday night to earn a high-major win on the national stage against Florida.

Shortly after the Panthers arrived in town earlier this week, they held a practice at the Brooklyn Nets’ NBA practice facility to get ready for the big game. ESPN NBA Draft Analyst Jonathan Givony stopped by to witness the team practice, see Bub Carrington first-hand, and get to know the Panthers’ squad better by talking to the staff.

“It’s often beneficial to go to these practices, spend time with the coaching staff, and just try and get a little bit of a better feel for the team, more context,” Givony told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “You don’t get as much out of it as a game, but I spend time with the coaching staff and just try to get a better picture of their squad.”

Givony, who founded DraftExpress.com in 2003, has been covering the NBA Draft full-time since that year. He joined ESPN in 2017 to lead its NBA Draft and International hoops coverage. So why did he want to see the Panthers practice specifically?
