Sunday’s Best ESPN BET Bets: Browns-Texans, Cowboys-Dolphins, Patriots-Broncos

We rebounded after a disappointing Friday night to go 2-1 yesterday. Mason Rudolph was able to carry the Steelers to a Christmas miracle cover and win. Actually, it was more of a beat down. I felt like I was in a different reality being at that game, we are not used to the Steelers playing like that. Northwestern won outright and covered against Utah. My streak of winning money off of Utah continues. The Penguins fell in OT, ending their comeback hopes. We move to 62-49-2 on the season.

Christmas Eve on a football Sunday. What couldn’t be better? Though there are some decent games today, we have some duds too. Just a lot of mediocre teams facing off. But like always, I will have some leans on other games that are not a part of the winning picks.

In Detroit/Minnesota, look for the total to go over. This is Jared Goff in a dome, it is where he thrives. Look for Sam LaPorta to find the end zone again like he did last year. Look for the over as well in Seattle/Tennessee. The Seahawks have to make the long trip after playing on Monday night. Not ideal.

Also, take Green Bay on the spread to beat the Panthers and the Colts to cover against the Falcons. Atlanta should not be favored after losing to the Panthers. And Indianapolis is healthy for this game including Jonathan Taylor. I think they can win outright with their strong rush defense. Jacksonville also picks up a win over Tampa Bay.

Now time for the winning picks!

Cleveland Browns (-3) at Houston Texans O/U 40  1:00 PM on CBS

A battle of old, backup quarterbacks as Case Keenum gets his second consecutive straight and Joe Flacco starts again. Flacco has been a revelation for the Browns, finally giving them a passing attack even better than Watson. Keenum starts again for the concussed CJ Stroud.

The Texans were able to win last week without Stroud, but they had to grind tooth and nail to get a win in OT over the lowly Titans. Though this Browns team is a different animal on the road and Flacco played badly in his first road start, I am taking the Browns in this game.

I believe Amari Cooper and Kareem Hunt find the end zone and the Browns defense does enough to get them the cover in this game. The Over will hit as well.

Dallas Cowboys at Miami Dolphins (-1.5) O/U 48  4:25 PM on Fox

Dallas can’t beat good teams on the road. Miami hasn’t beaten a team over .500. Something has to give in this game of two 10-4 teams looking to lock up their division. The Cowboys really struggled in Buffalo last week, looking like a completely different team. The Dolphins rebounded after losing to the Titans on Monday Night by shutting out the Jets.

I expect a lot of points in this game from both sides. Tyreek Hill is back for Miami. Expect him and Jaylen Waddle to find the end zone. Ceedee Lamb may be contained by Jalen Ramsey, so look for Brandon Cooks to find the end zone as well.

Though I will lean the Cowboys in this match up, the winning picks play is the Over 48.

New England Patriots at Denver Broncos (-7.5) O/U 36.5 8:15 PM on NFL Network

In terms of a Christmas Eve matchup, this game stinks. The Patriots are completely out of it. Bill Belichick is weighing his future options with his time in New England up in the air. The Broncos are trying to climb back into the playoff race after being blown out in Detroit.

Though the Patriots do suck, they do have a decent defense, something that Belichick can hang his hat on. This game is going to be a rough and tumble physical matchup. I think it is way too many points on the spread for this New England team even with their struggles on offense.

I am not picking a touchdown scorer here because I don’t think there are going to be a lot of touchdowns. I like the Patriots to cover this large spread. Belichick could be the grinch for the Broncos in a close game.
