Twitter Reaction to Pitt’s Crucial Loss to Clemson

On Tuesday night, Pitt basketball fell to Clemson in a crucial game on the road.

The Panthers came up short of the Quad 1 victory despite a strong 5-for-6 start from three-point range. Bub Carrington led the Panthers with 18 points, Ishmael Leggett added 15, and Zack Austin had ten. However, the Tigers held Blake Hinson to just six points in a strong defensive effort, winning the game 69-62. Clemson had four players in double figures: Chase Hunter, Ian Schieffelin, Joe Girard III, and PJ Hall. Schieffelin had another monster game on the glass, grabbing 12 rebounds for a double double. Hall also had a double double, grabbing ten boards.

Can we just please admit this Pitt team isn’t that good? They rely on 3’s, and have no inside game, so when the 3’s aren’t falling they lose. Classic Capel team. Give this false sense of hope until the dreams get shattered.

Pitt’s dry stretch early 2H included some Hinson shots that weren’t in the flow of the offense but more “I need to get some shots up to get going” – which wasn’t necessary based on 1H.

Clemson made sure that anyone for Pitt could beat them except Blake Hinson. And on a team with true freshmen and non-offensive weapons, it worked out perfectly.
