My brackets may have busted but the Winning Picks went a perfect 3-0 yesterday! UConn clobbered Stetson to roll into the second round. Colorado held off Florida in a thrilling game. Another First Four winner moves onto the next round, a tradition unlike any other. James Madison put a stranglehold on Wisconsin and won outright, as I predicted. We moved to 214-161-3, a 56%-win percentage!
We have an action-packed day of college basketball, and like yesterday, I believe the underdogs will be barking today. Look for Dayton, Washington St and Oakland to at least cover today in their respective games today. Honestly believe the Flyers and Golden Grizzlies can win outright today against Arizona and NC State.
As for their favorites, for the leans on those you will have to wait until tonight. I like Tennessee and Creighton to cover in their games. This will set up a collision in the Sweet 16 between these two squads. First to 90 in that matchup will win.

#5 Gonzaga Bulldogs (-4.5) vs #4 Kansas Jayhawks O/U 151.5 NCAA Tournament Second Round 3:15 PM on CBS
Both Gonzaga and Kansas were both up by 20 points in their first games of the tournament on Thursday. Only 1 however won by double digits. The Bulldogs were able to cruise past Will Wade’s McNeese St with the Cowboys never really having a chance. The Jayhawks could not keep Samford down and had to fight to the bitter end with a controversial call helping them to a 4-point win.
Kansas already came into this tournament banged up and they have to be feeling fatigued after dealing with Samford’s full court press for 40 minutes. Gonzaga has been rolling over the past 2 months after doubt they would make the tournament field. I believe the Bulldogs run rolls on and they crush a tired Jayhawk team by double digits.

#9 Michigan St Spartans vs #1 North Carolina (-4.5) O/U 140.5 NCAA Tournament Second Round 5:30 PM on CBS
Whenever Michigan St is a 8/9 or 7/10 seed, it also feels like they are matched up in the next round with one of the other blue blood programs like Duke, Kansas, etc. Tonight, they will get another blue blood program tonight as they will face North Carolina in Charlotte.
I truly believe North Carolina has a legit shot at winning it all with their veteran roster, which still has the core of its team from two seasons ago when they lost in the championship game to Kansas. The Spartans will give the Tar Heels their best shot today. In the end, North Carolina will win and cover today against Michigan St.

#11 Duquesne Dukes vs #3 Illinois Fighting Illini (-10.5) O/U 147.5 NCAA Tournament Second Round 8:40 PM on TNT
What a last dance it has been for Keith Dambrot. Not only did he lead the Dukes to their first ever A-10 Championship, but they were also able to upset BYU in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. But with another game comes another challenge, an even bigger one than the Cougars: Big Ten Champion Illinois.
The Fighting Illini fought off an early first half fury by Morehead St to win comfortably on Thursday. Duquesne was able to lock down a Top 15 offense in BYU, but Illinois is in the Top 5. I believe the Dukes will fight until the final horn sounds with this potentially being the end of the line for their season and coach Dambrot’s career. With that fueling them, Duquesne will at least cover today against Illinois. No matter how it goes, this magical run by the Dukes will always be remembered.
