Thursday’s Best Draftkings Bets: Bucks-Pacers, Bruins-Maple Leafs, Knicks-76ers

Just like the Pirates offense, the Winning Picks are experiencing a power outage finishing 1-2 again. The over was able to cash in the final minutes of Kings/Oilers as Edmonton advances to the next round. While Oakland scored runs, the Pirates offense remained anemic as the over could not cover. The Clippers were blown out at home to put them at the breaking point of elimination. We moved to 268-221-3 on the year.

While we have a few NBA playoffs series that could wrap up tonight (we will get to those in a bit), there is only one series in the next round that is set between the Denver Nuggets and the Minnesota Timberwolves. Both teams breezed through their opening round series as the Timberwolves swept the Phoenix Suns and the Nuggets took down the Los Angeles Lakers in 5 games. The oddsmakers have listed defending NBA Champion Denver as a pretty big favorite in this series, but there is some value in the underdog.

The Nuggets are listed at -205 on Draftkings to win the series while the Timberwolves are +170. In the regular season, these teams split 2-2 with each team winning once in the other’s building. While Nikola Jokic was a dominant force against the Lakers, the Timberwolves have the big bodies to throw at the former MVP in Karl-Anthony Towns, Rudy Gobert, Jaden McDaniels and Naz Reid. But the biggest x-factor for Minnesota might be star guard Anthony Edwards. The former #1 pick has no fear and averaged 31 points a game in the last series. If Edwards can continue to play at the high level, the Timberwolves could send the defending champion home early. At least Jokic won’t have to wait until late June to see his horse back in his native Serbia.

Now time for the Winning Picks!

Milwaukee Bucks at Indiana Pacers (-6) O/U 217 6:30 PM on TNT

The Bucks could get both Giannis Antetokoumpo and Damian Lillard back tonight for a win or go home Game 6 at Indiana. Lillard is more likely to play out of the two stars for Milwaukee, and they will need him if they want to take this series to a Game 7. The Bucks were able to win handedly in Game 5 without either, but being on the road is a different story.

I truly believe Lillard will play tonight but I don’t think Giannis will. The former Trail Blazer has come up big in pivotal playoff moments before and Milwaukee will need that in more to stave off elimination. Though I think they will come up just short in those efforts, the Bucks will cover but Pacers move on to await the Knicks or 76ers.

Bucks Cover +6, Milwaukee Bucks 109 Indiana Pacers 114

Boston Bruins (-125) at Toronto Maple Leafs O/U 5.5 8:00 PM on TBS

Could Boston blow another series lead in the first round of the playoffs? That is what is in the realm of possibility as the Maple Leafs extended this series to a Game 6 with an overtime victory in Game 5. That was all without their star Auston Matthews, who will remain out again tonight.

You know the Bruins are feeling the presence after following the Florida Panthers to come back in their series last year where they lost in seven games. But without Matthews, I don’t believe the Maple Leafs will be able to cook up another upset. Boston advances tonight to the next round to get another crack at Florida.

Bruins Moneyline -125, Boston Bruins 3 Toronto Maple Leafs 2

New York Knicks at Philadelphia 76ers (-3) O/U 201 9:00 PM on TNT

The Knicks were 30 seconds away from advancing to the next round of the playoffs before the NBA’s Most Improved Player award winner Tyrese Maxey channeled his inner Reggie Miller to score 6 points down the stretch to send the game into overtime leading to a 76ers win. Now with this series headed back to Philadelphia for Game 6, can the Knicks finally close it out?

The biggest question surrounding the 76ers is can Joel Embiid’s conditioning hold up. The former MVP looked gassed in their loss in Game 4 Sunday and he played another 48 minutes in their overtime win in Game 5. Unless Maxey goes nuclear again, I don’t see the 76ers extending this series any further. Knicks cover and win tonight, advancing to face the Pacers in a series that should give basketball fans some 90’s nostalgia.
