Sunday’s Best Draftkings Bets: Magic-Cavaliers, Rockies-Pirates, Golden Knights-Stars
Another down day for the Winning Picks finishing 1-2. The under was once again able to cover in Rockies/Pirates as the Bucs won 1-0 on a walk off single in the bottom of the 9th. The over could not cover in Timberwolves/Nuggets as Minnesota was able to win outright in Game 1. Toronto fell in overtime to Boston, eliminating them from the playoffs. We moved to 272-226-3 on the year.
With one series left to be decided in the Stanley Cup playoff first round, we have a much clear picture in the Stanley Cup odds. And when I mean clear, I mean we have a log jam. Including the Dallas Stars who will face the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 7 tonight, we will get to that game later, we have 7 teams between +400 and +900 odds to win it all. In all my years of betting futures, I have never seen odds so close this deep in a playoff.
So where is the value? Between the Hurricanes, Panthers, Oilers, Avalanche, Rangers, the previously mentioned Stars and Bruins, all these teams have the ability to lift the cup this season. Probably the best value between these teams is the Rangers at +750. They will have a tough series starting today against Carolina. I think New York can take Game 1 at home today, but this series should go seven games in this pretty even matchup.

The only series to reach seven games in the first round of the NBA playoffs tips off today as the Cavaliers host the Magic. The home team has won every game of this series so far. Naturally, the Cavs are gonna win today, right?
Well, whether Cleveland wins or loses today is on the shoulders of Donovan Mitchell. The All-Star shooting guard has carried this Cavs team this season and in the playoffs. They go as he goes. While I do think the Cavaliers win today, I think it will be close and so close the Magic will be able to cover the short spread in this game.

Good news. The Pirates finally won a game. The bad news. They once again failed to score more than 4 runs in a game for the 8th straight game. Can they finally break out against this Rockies team and win the series today?
Well, I do think the Pirates can win but I don’t think the runs will come with it. Everyone is clamoring for Paul Skenes to be called up, but the starting pitching isn’t the problem. Jared Jones only gave up 1 hit and struck out 10 batters yesterday, but it still wasn’t enough to earn a win. Until the offense can show life, Skenes needs to stay in Indianapolis. As for today’s game, the offense once again doesn’t score more than 4 runs and the under covers again.

Stanley Cup playoff Game 7’s just hit differently than a NBA playoff Game 7. With the way this series started, it didn’t look like it would make it this far as the Stars dropped the first two games at home. Dallas was able to win three straights but was not able to eliminate Vegas in Game 6 on the road.
So, who has the edge in this Game 7? Like Game 6 in this series and Games 6 and 7 in Maple Leafs/Bruins, I expect this game to be played very tight. I don’t expect it to be as low scoring as their matchup on Friday, but I do expect the under to cover again as Dallas moves on to the next round to face Colorado.
