Pitt All 105: RB Juelz Goff Has Tons of Potential to Unlock

All 105 is a Pittsburgh Sports Now series profiling each of the 105 members of the Pitt 2024 training camp roster.

Juelz Goff, a freshman running back from Central York in York, Pa.

2023 season: Goff capped off a standout career at Central York with yet another All-Pennsylvania campaign, helping the Panthers to an 11-1 campaign

Stats: Goff starred at Central York last season, racking up 1,623 rushing yards and 31 rushing touchdowns and setting the Central York career rushing record in the process

Camp outlook: Goff is entering his first summer camp at Pitt, after enrolling early and spending the spring with the Panthers, and it will be a valuable learning experience

Projected role: Goff isn’t likely to see the field much during his true freshman campaign, considering the depth in front of him, but a strong camp showing could prove to the coaching staff he’s ready for an opportunity if the moment is right

Juelz Goff (5-foot-9, 190 pounds) initially committed to Pitt as a three-star recruit in the class of 2024, choosing the Panthers over offers from Boston College, Duke, James Madison, Old Dominion and Rutgers.

While Goff isn’t likely to see much action as a true freshman, he was the crown jewel of the running back class for Pat Narduzzi and the Pitt coaching staff — the one running back that the Panthers truly wanted.

“You know, at one point we had two, but there’s no question (Goff) was the guy,” Narduzzi said on National Signing Day in December. “His dad will tell you, he’ll tell you, I’ll tell you, if we were going to lose one, this is the one we did not want to lose. He’s a 10.8 100-meter guy, he’s the all-time leading rusher in that school district there.

“He’s got that breakaway speed, you talk 10.8 and he’s only a senior in high school. He’s explosive, and it’s one of those guys if you give him a crack, he’s gonna take more than you blocking, and that’s what we need.”

Goff is a very fast, elusive runner, with a strong, compact build, but he’s likely going to use his first season in Pittsburgh to continue to learn and grow within the system. But the future is very bright.
