With a 3:30 p.m. kickoff against Virginia set at Heinz Field Saturday, those watching from home will listen to ESPN’s crew of Beth Mowins and Kirk Morrison in the booth and Dawn Davenport on the field, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette‘s Johnny McGonigal reported.
Mowins will handle play-by-play duties, Morrison will provide color commentary and Davenport will serve as the sideline reporter. With a mid-afternoon kickoff on ESPN2 not drawing the higher-profile announcers, the broadcast crew may be unfamiliar to those who are not avid college football fans.
With some uncertainty surrounding UVA quarterback Brennan Armstrong’s status for Saturday’s game, Pitt opened as a double-digit favorite over the Cavaliers in betting lines. With a win over the Cavs, Pitt would clinch a spot in the ACC championship game against Wake Forest on Dec. 4.
Awful broadcasting crew
This game will be on mute. Beth is just painful to listen to
she
s more of a better basketball play byplay than football since she was a women
s college basketball coach. but shes a very well professional announcer. Yes if it was basketball i
d whether have doris BurkeBetter watch out. I got lifetime ban from Bleacher Report for saying a female broadcaster was terrible. The comment had nothing to do with her gender just the fact that she wasn’t a good playxplay person and they dropped the hammer on my account.
That’s the most pathetic thing I read today but not surprising. Your only allowed to be critical of certain people, Which Is just ridiculous.
Beth mowens is terrible. It has nothing to do with being a girl. Doris Burke is excellent at her job, it’s such a shame that some people aren’t allowed to be criticized
Ugh. Game on mute. 93.7 will be playing.
A chick?
A classic run play description by Mowens, ‘” QB has the ball, hands it off, he is running with the ball, being chased , he is tackled out of bounds”, for little gain, second down and 2 coming up.
