Pitt tight end target C.J. Dippre has committed to Maryland, ending the Panthers’ pursuit of the Pennsylvania native.
Dippre, a three-star athlete from Jermyn, Pa. in the northeast corner of the state, picked the Terps out of a final group that also included Boston College, Kentucky, Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse and Virginia.

Pitt tight ends coach Tim Salem extended an offer to Dippre in February after a long recruiting process. He visited Pitt back in January.
“One of the big reasons I picked that school is because I felt really comfortable around them,” Dippre told Rivals about his decision. “I think it’s a good fit for me and I think they’re going to use me in a really good position and that’s the best place for me to do good in college and maybe even after.”
Moving on from Dippre, Pitt has offers out to 13 other tight ends in the Class of 2021, including Lake McRee, teammate of Pitt quarterback commit Nate Yarnell. Other top targets include Miles Campbell from Douglasville, Ga. and Ben Postma of Cypress, Texas.
The next story we hear on him will be him entering the transfer portal…
Haha. I hope good things for the kid but it seems like a bad fit to me as well.
