Three Pitt players have been given ACC weekly awards for their performances in Pitt’s 35-34 upset of then-No. 15 UCF on Saturday.

Kenny Pickett is the ACC Quarterback of the Week, Bryce Hargrove is the ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week and Aaron Mathews is the Specialist of the Week.

Pickett threw for 224 yards and a touchdown pass, ran for 61 yards and even caught a touchdown pass to lead the Panthers to their second Top 15 victory while he starts.

Pitt’s junior quarterback has an active streak of 139 passing attempts without an interception, the second-longest such streak in all of FBS football. His 1,012 passing yards on the season are 16th in the country.

Pickett also won the award last season after beating Wake Forest.

Mathews blocked a second-quarter UCF punt that was recovered and retuned for a touchdown by redshirt freshman linebacker Wendell Davis.

He also contributed on offense, throwing a touchdown pass to Pickett on the game-winning play and recording one catch for 24 yards that saw him hurdle a pair of Knights defenders.

Hargrove was the highest-rated member of Pitt’s offensive line that finally saw its running game break through to the tune of a 5.3-yards per carry average.
