Jeff Capel’s first commitment after becoming Pitt’s head coach came from guard Trey McGowens.

Capel is hoping that lightning can strike twice and Trey’s younger brother will be one of it not his first commitment in Pitt’s Class of 2021.

4-star shooting guard Bryce McGowens (6’6”, 165) tells Pittsburgh Sports Now that he will be in Pittsburgh this weekend for an unofficial visit.

“I will be arrive at Friday night,” McGowens told PSN. “I can’t wait to get on campus and get to be around a great atmosphere. I love what Coach Capel is doing and how the program is on the uprise.”

McGowens is currently ranked by Rivals as the #11 shooting guard and the 51st overall prospect in the Class of 2021. The rising junior holds over twenty major offers including ones from Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, South Carolina, Xavier, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, LSU, Nebraska, St. John’s, TCU, Florida, Iowa State and Virginia Tech.

Capel was able to get Trey to leave the south to come to Pittsburgh. Two years later, will he be able to do the same with Bryce?
