PETERS TWP., Pa. — Erie native William Jeffress, who is a four-star prospect and a top-40 player in the class of 2021 that has drawn interest from Pitt head coach Jeff Capel was in action against a WPIAL team on Saturday afternoon.

Jeffress led McDowell to a 56-52 win over Peters Township with 21 points, five rebounds, four blocks, three steals and one assist.

Pitt and Capel have already shown heavy interest in Jeffress, along with three other major Division I schools. Stanford was at Peters Township on Saturday to watch Jeffress and he’s publicly acknowledged an offer from Penn State.
