Die-Hards: Will This Be the Class Pitt Finally Lands a TE Prospect?

Published

on

To say that Pitt has had problems recruiting the tight end position would be a massive understatement.

In the last seven recruiting classes, Pitt’s primary means of obtaining tight ends has been through transfers which was the case again this year with the additions of Florida graduate transfer Lucas Krull and junior college grad Daniel Moraga.

The last player to be recruited as a tight end and finish his four-year career there at Pitt was Scott Orndoff, who came to Pitt in the Class of 2013 and graduated after the 2016 season. Grant Carrigan has a chance to be the next one.

In between those players, Pitt has had tight ends moved to other positions (Brian O’Neil and Jason Collier), players moved to tight end (Kyi Wright), transfers in (Will Gragg, Nakia Griffin-Stewart and Matt Flanagan), transfers out (Charles Reeves and Tyler Sear) and both (Chris Clark).
