Pitt Winning Recruiting Battles Over Quality Power 5 Programs in Class of 2021

The Pitt Panther football program is on course for their best year of recruiting during the Pat Narduzzi era.

With 13 current commitments, Pitt’s Class of 2021 is currently ranked No. 23 by both 247 Sports and Rivals. The fact that they only have one four-star recruit in this class and it’s still ranked in the low 20’s, tells you the quality of the three-star recruits the Panthers’ coaches have landed.

Whether a certain player is a three-star or four-star recruit can be argued and debated, which is why a players offer sheet is a more telling measurement because it’s how programs feel about him as opposed to evaluators for recruiting websites.

When examining the offer lists of Pitt’s 13 commitments, it shows that Narduzzi and his staff are winning plenty of recruiting battles over quality Power Five programs. PSN’s Harry Psaros sums things up pretty well with this recent tweet.

Here’s a breakdown of some members of Pitt’s Class of 2021 and here are a few things stand out:

• Five of the 13 commitments held offers from Penn State, which currently has the No. 17 ranked recruiting class.

• Six of the 13 commitments held offers from West Virginia, an increasingly competitive recruiting battle.

• Seven of the 13 commitments held offers from Maryland, which currently has the No. 18 ranked recruiting class.

• Five of the 13 commitments held offers from Virginia Tech, one of Pitt’s primary Coastal Division rivals.
