Laurel Highlands two-sport star Rodney Gallagher created a national name for himself following his freshman season in both basketball and football.
His performance on both the football field and the basketball court earned him D-I scholarships in both sports. The Pitt and Penn State football and basketball programs have both extended offers to the 2023 4-star recruit.
In terms of football, Gallagher holds offers from Pitt, Penn State, Michigan, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Toledo and William & Mary and has repeatedly stated his desire to attempt to play both sports in college.
Tuesday was a newsworthy day for Gallagher because for the first time, he spoke with Pitt’s new wide receiver coach Brennan Marion over a FaceTime call.
Pittsburgh Sports Now had the chance to talk with him about that and he pointed out something very interesting about the call along with updating us on his recruitment. That offer list is likely to increase soon as a few major programs are starting to show interest.
