The Pitt football program is losing a local player, as redshirt sophomore wide receiver Will Gipson has decided to transfer from Pitt and will look for an opportunity at another program.

Gipson arrived at Pitt as a three-star recruit from Aliquippa High School and was in their Class of 2019. It’s interesting that Pitt was recruiting both Gipson and Aliquippa 4-star safety MJ Devonshire and at the time, Gipson signed with Pitt and Devonshire with Kentucky. Two years later, Devonshire has transferred to Pitt and now is Gipson is transferring.

Gipson is a big (6-foot-3, 185 pounds), athletic wideout with tremendous playmaking ability but with the depth at wide receiver, never had the chance last season to show it.

Gipson will have four seasons of athletic eligibility at his new school.

I wonder if he can catch. Most of the Pitt WRs from few years ago had trouble catching the ball. It would have been nice to see him in there some. H2P!

We have a plethora of WRs who can catch currently. He was never going to see the field anytime soon.

Really…..we seem to have a plethora who drop a ton of passes.
Pitt I believe led the NCAAF in drops.
