One of Pat Narduzzi’s top 2022 recruiting targets is set to make his college decision.
3-star linebacker Deuce Spurlock (Madison, Alabama) plans on committing sometime Saturday. Although Spurlock hasn’t announced a group of finalists, it would be surprising if Pitt isn’t a school he’s seriously considering committing to.

Spurlock (6-foot-2, 215 pounds) made an official visit to Pitt at the end of June and has been pursued very consistently by both Narduzzi and linebacker coach Ryan Manalac.
Back in June, Spurlock announced a top five of Pitt, Michigan, Mississippi State, Liberty and Appalachian State. Since that list, the rising prospect has picked up offers from South Carolina and Syracuse plus is hearing from both Miami and Clemson.
Two weeks ago, Spurlock told PSN that the schools he’s hearing from the most are (in no order) Pitt, Michigan, South Carolina and Miami.
Last season, Spurlock was a first team all-state performer in Alabama as he collected 89 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, two blocked punts, 17 catches for 493 yards and six touchdowns.
Spurlock plans on announcing his decision tomorrow, although no exact time was given.
Pitt currently has received 13 commitments for their Class of 2022 with no linebackers, although Texas safety Marquan Pope could be converted to play linebacker.
