SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi tied Walt Harris for fourth place on the school’s all-time coaching wins list with his 52nd career victory in Pitt’s 31-14 win over Syracuse on Saturday night.

Narduzzi took 88 games to win 52, with a 52-36 overall record. Coaching from 1997-2004, Harris had a 52-44 record.

Narduzzi is now tops amongst modern-era Pitt head coaches. Only Jock Sutherland (111 wins), Pop Warner (76 wins) and John Michelosen (56 wins) have more in program history. Warner coached from 1915-23, Sutherland from 1924-38 and Michelosen from 1955-65.

Narduzzi already held the mark for most conference wins, now at 36. Harris is second with 28. He also has the best winning percentage in conference games at .621. Dave Wannstedt and Todd Graham are tied at .571.
