The talent evaluators at 247 Sports have raised defensive end Jimmy Scott, from a 3-star to a 4-star recruit. Scott (6’3″, 255 lbs.) signed with the Panthers back in December and was widely considered one of the most talented players in this year’s class. Before choosing Pitt, Scott held offers from programs like Boston College, Rutgers, Tennessee, Arizona State, Arkansas, Colorado, Duke, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan State, Minnesota, NC State, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Syracuse, Texas A&M and West Virginia.
Scott joins Ohio offensive tackle Ryan Baer and Massachusetts defensive end Samuel Okunlola as Pitt’s 2022 4-star recruits.
The addition of Scott continues to strengthen the depth Pitt has accumulated the last few years on their defensive line. The recruiting efforts of the Panthers staff has gotten them 4-star defensive end Dayon Hayes, 4-star defensive tackle Elliot Donald, 4-star defensive end Nahai Johnson, 3-star defensive tackle Dorien Ford, 3-star defensive tackle Sean FitzSimmon, Okunlola and Scott.
