Pitt Offers RJ Greer, Son of Panther Great Ricardo Greer

On Tuesday night, Pitt extended an offer to RJ Greer, the son of Pitt legend Ricardo Greer.

Greer Jr. is a 6-foot-4 shooting guard who plays for Springboro High School in Springboro, Ohio. The class-of-2025 prospect holds offers from Florida, Michigan, Cincinnati, and others, and has exploded onto the national recruiting scene at a young age.

Greer took a visit to Pitt and picked up an offer just days after spending time with the Dayton Flyers TBT team along with his father, Ricardo senior, who is currently the associate head coach at Dayton.

Greer’s father, Ricardo senior, played four seasons at Pitt from 1997-2001. He averaged 12+ points per game in each of his first two seasons with the Panthers, and took his game to another level as an upperclassmen, posting averages of 18.1 and 16.6 points per game as a junior and senior, respectively.

Greer was a two-time All Big East selection, and was named as the 1999-2000 Big East Most Improved Player as well. He finished his Pitt career with 1,753 points and 888 rebounds.

Ricardo was a great Pitt guy. I graduated in 2002 and so got to see him will the Panthers to the Big East Championship Tournament Game winning 3 games in 3 days before falling to a more rested BC team in the final (4th game in 4 days). Him and B. Knight really laid the foundation and set the standard for the Howland/Dixon success.
