One of the top uncommitted WPIAL recruits plans on making college decision in the near future, as Bishop Canevin three-star safety Jason Cross will announce his commitment this Friday, June 30 at 6 p.m. at Kennard Field.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pound safety has narrowed his list of offers down to three schools: Syracuse, Michigan State and West Virginia. Aside from those three programs, Cross has also received offers from Akron, Boston College, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, UConn, Eastern Michigan, Howard, Iowa State, Kent State, Kentucky, Marshall, Maryland, Miami Ohio, Penn State, Penn, Temple, Texas A&M, Toledo, UNLV and Virginia Tech.
In terms of official visits, he was at Syracuse during the first weekend of June and then at West Virginia during the weekend of June 9. He also went down to Morgantown recently for a 7-on-7 prospects camp.
Rivals rates Cross as the No. 33 Pennsylvania prospect in the Class of 2024 while 247 Sports lists him as No. 6 in the state and No. 45 at the safety position.
That’s quite the offer list for a local talent. So I wonder why Pitt did not offer a scholarship??
