WPXI sports reporter Jenna Harner held her weekly sit-down with Pitt football head coach Pat Narduzzi on Thursday.
The duo discussed the importance of the River City Rivalry, featuring Pitt and Cincinnati this Saturday, Sept. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at Acrisure Stadium, also set to play on the CW in front of a national audience.
Harner asked Narduzzi about his previous history as the Bearcats defensive coordinator from 2004-06 and what the game means to him. The two also spoke on the Panthers run game and third down plays, Bearcats quarterback Emory Jones and how Narduzzi intends to game plan for him.
Other topics of discussion were Cincinnati head coach Scott Satterfield, who Narduzzi faced last season at Louisville, Cincinnati’s roster with the transfer portal and also the impact of the portal on college football as a whole.
Harner finished the discussion for WPXI on what Pitt can improve on in terms of defense, offensive line, special teams, quarterback Phil Jurkovec, how they’ve prepared for the upcoming primetime matchup and the new additions to the ACC in Cal, Stanford and SMU. Â
Pitt opens up as a seven point favorite against Cincinnati, coming off of a 45-7 win over FCS opponent Wofford in Week 1.Â
