Former Pitt football defensive tackle Keyshon Camp signed a new contract with the Edmonton Elks in the Canadian Football League on Friday.

Camp came to the Panthers as a member of the Class of 2016. He came in as a four-star recruit, ranking the No. 26 defensive tackle, No. 36 recruit in Florida and No. 265 in the country in his class respectively. He was one of four Panthers in his class to receive a four-star rating, including defensive back Damar Hamlin, quarterback Thomas MacVittie and linebacker Chase Pine.

He would redshirt in 2016, but would see a good amount of playing time in 2017, playing in 10 games and starting eight of them. Camp made 19 tackles, nine solo, a career-high 3.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery during that season.

Camp played the first seven games of 2018, but would suffer a season-ending injury against then ranked No. 5 Notre Dame in Week 7. He finished that season with 14 tackles, eight solo, 2.5 tackles for loss and two sacks.

Injuries continued to plague Camp heading into 2019, as he suffered another season-ending injury in the first half against Virginia in the opener. He would come back in 2020, where he played in six games and started three.

Camp had a solid 2021 season for Pitt football, playing in 10 games, where he made 19 tackles, career-high 15 solo, two sacks, one tackle for loss, four passes defended and one forced fumble. His play in the ACC Championship game against Wake Forest, where he made three solo tackles, five total, and one sack as Pitt won their first ever ACC title.

He would declare for the 2022 NFL Draft, but no team selected him, so he signed for the Birmingham Stallions of the USFL for the inaugural season that year. Camp had a big impact for Birmingham, as they finished the regular season 9-1 and won the USFL Championship, 33-30 over the Philadelphia Stars.

The Stallions cut Camp in training camp, before he signed with the Stars ahead of the 2023 season, who would release him midseason. The Stallions resigned Camp, who once again helped them reign as USFL Champions, making three tackles and two sacks in the 28-12 victory over the Pittsburgh Maulers.
