Pitt Receiving Junior Day Visit from Recently Offered 2025 Texas OL

Logan Cahill can’t speak for his fellow offensive linemen at Prosper High, but he was just sitting in class when he got a text from his coach Malcolm Hill to come down to the office.

He had a similar experience the day before when Duke stopped by Prosper on Jan. 23, and when he walked into the office, he was greeted by Jacob Bronowski and all of his fellow offensive linemen.

“So, we all got kind of round-tabled, and (Bronowski) was like, ‘I saw you guys picked up that offer from Duke yesterday, and I want you guys to pull out your phones and tweet out that you got an offer from Pitt.’ It was really roundtable, all my guys around,” Cahill told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “Just a very fun experience.”

It was a big step forward for the offensive line as a whole but also for Cahill as an individual. It was his third offer, following Duke and Lamar.

It was the first time that Cahill — a 6-foot-5, 295-pound offensive lineman from Prosper in Prosper, Tx. — had ever spoken to a Pitt coach, and he admitted he didn’t know much about the Panthers before the offer, but he did know about Pittsburgh.

He grew up in Long Island, N.Y. with a father who loved the Steelers. Cahill idolized former Steelers defensive end Brett Keisel for his play on the field and his generosity off the field. He doesn’t quite have the beard yet, but when he comes to Pittsburgh for Junior Day this weekend, he’ll be rocking the goatee.

Cahill was invited to Junior Day, and he’ll be flying up with his mom Friday night, and he’s excited for the opportunity. It’s a chance to see Bronowski again but also start to build a connection with new offensive line coach Jeremy Darveau.

“I’m really intrigued by the program,” Cahill said. “I feel like it’s going to be a great experience going up, and I’m just honestly impressed from what I’ve seen talking to coach Bronowski and whatnot. I’m excited to get there.

“Me and my mom want to go up and see the stadium, obviously. There’s a basketball game on the itinerary, so I obviously want to go see the game. And honestly, just see all around the area, see what the environment is like.”

Cahill wasn’t aware of the link between Pitt and the Steelers before he started to dive into his research, but he’s excited about that — and a new coaching staff and the academic side of the program. And the football aspect, of course.

Cahill was one-fifth of a very good offensive on a Prosper squad that went 11-2 last season and advanced to the regional finals of the Texas Class-6A D-I playoffs. He primarily played guard, holding down a spot on the left side of the line.

Cahill hasn’t been rated by the major recruiting services (247Sports, Rivals or On3), but he’s a rising recruit who will be busy this spring. The recruiting rankings will arrive with it.

Cahill is making it up to Pitt for the first time, and he’s hearing a lot from Duke — with a potential Junior Day in March. He hasn’t picked up offers from Kansas or Michigan State yet, but he’s been in communication with both schools. He’s looking for a school — eventually — that has a coaching staff he’s truly able to connect with.

“And obviously being able to major and think about life after football as well,” Cahill said. “The relationship with the offensive line coach, I’m basically going to be living and working with him for the next four or five years, and that relationship needs to be important.”

It will be an important weekend for Cahill when it comes to his Pitt relationship, learning more about the program, the players, the coaches and the city of Pittsburgh itself.

Pitt has not yet landed a commitment in the class of 2025, but the recruits in the class are beginning to come to the forefront.

The Panthers are in the mix for four-star linebacker Dayshaun Burnett (Pittsburgh, Pa.), three-star athlete Emmanuel Taylor (Virginia Beach, Va.), three-star offensive lineman Raphael Greene (Cincinnati, Ohio), four-star wide receiver Jadyn Robinson (San Juan Capistrano, Cal.), three-star running back Jeffrey Overton Jr. (Woodbridge, Va.), three-star athlete Jaiden Brown-Demery (Mest Mifflin, Pa.) and three-star edge rusher Sharlandiin Strange (Wyncote, Pa).
