Zoo Crew has added another weapon to its roster for the 2024 edition of The Basketball Tournament.

On Thursday, the team announced that former Pitt guard Nike Sibande will be a member of the team. Sibande was listed as a member of last year’s team, but did not play in the team’s matchup against Herd That in the first round of the tournament in Wheeling, West Virginia.

The Miami (OH) transfer spent three years in Pittsburgh, playing in 2020-21, missing the 2021-22 season due to an ACL tear, and playing in the 2022-23 season. Sibande won the ACC Sixth Man of the Year award with Pitt in 2022-23, playing a big role off the bench in Pitt’s NCAA Tournament run. He averaged 8.4 points and 4.1 rebounds per game as a senior, shooting 43% from the field and 35% from three-point range.

Sibande is now playing professional basketball overseas, and has played for three different teams this year, per eurobasket.com. He played for Kataja in Finland from September to December, scoring 25+ points seven times in 12 games for the club. He has recently played for Merkezefendi (Turkey), and scored 18, ten, and 0 points in three games across late January and early February.

Zoo Crew has also announced that Jamarius Burton and Jamel Artis will be on the team with Sibande. The Petersen Events Center will host The Basketball Tournament this year from July 19-24.
