Pitt’s basketball staff is hard at work recruiting the transfer portal.

The Panthers have numerous spots to fill, as leading scorer Blake Hinson is out of eligibility, guard Bub Carrington declared for the NBA Draft, and more spots opened up with Federiko Federiko and Will Jeffress entering the portal themselves.

This past week, there was an NCAA dead period, meaning no recruits could take visits. However, now, the Panthers’ attention turns to this weekend, which will be a big recruiting weekend in the Steel City.

Pitt will host three recruits for visits this weekend.

Cam Corhen, a transfer out of Florida State, will visit this weekend. The 6-foot-10 forward averaged 9.4 points per game as a sophomore in Tallahassee.

Damian Dunn, a 6-foot-5 guard who played for Houston this past year, will also visit. Dunn averaged 6.4 points per game this past season for the Cougars after transferring in from Temple last year. In 2022-23, Dunn averaged 15.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3 assists per game for the Owls, shooting 35% from three-point range.

Lastly, high schooler Derek Dixon will be in town for his official visit. Dixon has taken numerous unofficial trips to Pitt. He will also visit Virginia on April 19. The four-star is ranked as the No. 79 prospect in the 2025 class, and the No. 11 combo guard.
