12 • M.J. Devonshire, redshirt sophomore safety
Last year: An Aliquippa alum, Devonshire played in eight games in 2020 with the Kentucky Wildcats before transferring to Pitt in December.
Stats: Devonshire recorded six tackles and two pass breakups in 11 career games with Kentucky. He preserved his redshirt as a freshman in 2019.
Camp outlook: The former four-star recruit joins a young group at safety on a Pitt team that just sent two safeties to the NFL in Paris Ford and Damar Hamlin.
Projected role: Devonshire could potentially earn a starting role with the Panthers, but depending on the outcome of the position battle, he may start as the backup free safety.
Accolades, Highlights: Named Pennsylvania Football Writers Class 3A Player of the Year, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Co-Player of the Year, and Pittsburgh Tribune-Review High School Athlete of the Year for the 2018 season.
