On Wednesday, Pitt extended an offer to another one of the best local prospects that Western Pennsylvania has seen in years, Meleek Thomas.
Thomas is a 6-foot-3 wing prospect from North Hills who has a very smooth style of play, featuring soft touch around the basket on floaters and his jump-shot along with calmness and confidence in his ball-handling abilities. While he is still just a freshman, the youngster already holds offers from Pitt and St. Johns.
Thomas joins Alier Maluk and Darryn Peterson as the only other players in the class of 2025 that have picked up offers from head coach Jeff Capel and Pitt.
I hope whoever they hire to clean the dumpster fire closes on these offers
The smart hire is the best national recruiter, Kentucky assistant coach and Pitt alum Orlando Antigua. This is a no brainer. Whenever you hear of a top 10 player recruit, the recruiter involved in Orlando Antigua.
To help Orlando with the transition hire a top notch basketball savvy, x and o coach as an assistant pay top dollar. Let the Capel’s float in mediocrity.
the only thing Capel has mastered is the use of smoke and mirrors. He makes a zillion offers so it appears that he’s in the conversation as a HC of significance (which he is not). Exit visa are imminent for this loser.
