On Saturday, Jeff Capel will be hosting a familiar recruit, Fray Nguimbi, for an unofficial visit, his coach confirmed with Pittsburgh Sports Now.
Nguimbi attends First Love Christian Academy in nearby Washington, Pennsylvania. He holds offers from Pitt, Clemson, Alabama, St. Johns, Rutgers, Illinois, and more. He was also recently visited by Jamie Dixon on behalf of TCU as well Providence. A 6-foot-8 forward, Nguimbi has visited Pitt in the past and has been in touch with the staff for well over a year after picking up an offer last September. Assistant coach Jason Capel has checked in on Nguimbi recently and has kept in touch with Nguimbi throughout the summer and fall.
With this visit, Pitt seems to be focused on Darren Buchanan and Nguimbi at the wing position for the 2022 class.
Nuigimbi is local and even he won’t go to Pitt. . . he has seen enough of Capel’s smoke & mirrors show. When will Lyke do the same?
Another Capel player listing on his list off top recruits “interested in Pitt” who sign immediately with another program. AD seems to believe these lists are legitimate and JC is one step away from signing the next Michael Jordon. She remains living in an alternate reality. In 2022 get out the check book sign the Pitt alum, Kentucky’s AC who has saved Calipari’s butt twice, Augusta Ontario, top 5 recruiters n nation. I don’t think JC is in jeopardy of getting fired at this point but another year of bad play on the court and top high school players signing elsewhere and I think the seat will be really hot.
