The Pitt men’s basketball program has announced the hiring of Vincent Williams as the program’s new strength and conditioning coach.
Williams joins Pitt after spending last season as the assistant strength and conditioning coach with the Philadelphia 76ers and replaces Garry Christopher, who held the position for the last five seasons.
Williams has spent time in both the NBA and Men’s College Basketball.

“Vince is highly respected in his field and has terrific experience at the NBA and collegiate levels,” said Jeff Capel. “I was impressed with his full-scope knowledge of training, conditioning, sports science, nutrition and recovery, as well as his approach to helping each student-athlete reach their full performance potential. I look forward to having him on our staff and watching how he helps enhance our strength and conditioning program.”
