PITTSBURGH — As Pitt coasted to a 79-53 victory over Binghamton on Friday night at Petersen Events Center, the Pitt starters were celebrating the victory long before the clock read zeroes.
That’s because they were on the bench.
With the Panthers routing the Bearcats by 26 points, Pitt head coach Jeff Capel inserted walk-ons Curtis Aiken, Jr., KJ Marshall, Chayce Smith and Anthony Starzynski.
“It was kinda cool to see them get in the game and actually play — get up and down,” leading scorer Justin Champagnie said.
