The recruiting juggernaut that is Pitt volleyball has continued with yet another commitment in the class of 2026.

Lola Sageer —  a 6-foot-2 outside hitter from Liverpool High in Liverpool, N.Y. — announced her commitment to Pitt Friday night, picking the Panthers over interest from Louisville, North Carolina, and USC.

Sageer announced her decision on Instagram, writing:

“I am beyond excited and grateful to announce my verbal commitment to play D1 volleyball and continue my academic career at the University of Pittsburgh! I first wanted to thank Coach Fisher, Kellen, Kama, Shaun, and Michael for this amazing opportunity and support. Middle school me is screaming right now! I couldn’t thank my coaches at VolleyFX and Nicksen enough for everything they have ever done for me and pushing me to be my best! I would also like to thank Derryk Williams as well, thank you so much for your guidance and wisdom through this process.

“I’d also like to shout out Michael Hope at Summit Physical therapy I wouldn’t be where I am without him, Carrie, and Madison Mackaig. Lastly I would like to thank my mom and sister for being here every step of the way, they have seen and been there with me through it all. Big things are coming and I am blessed to be a part of it!”

Sageer was one of the top volleyball recruits in the class, drawing interest from some the top programs in college volleyball. But the Panthers were able to draw her in, securing yet another top recruit in the class.

Sageer is the fifth commitment in the class of 2026, joining top recruit Isabelle Hoppeoutside hitter/libero Izzy Masten, libero/outside hitter Trinity Thompson and top recruit Ayanna Watson giving the Panthers a quartet of high-potential rising high school juniors.

Pitt is bringing four freshmen in in the class of 2024 this season, middle blockers Bianca Garibaldi and Ryla Jones, setter/right-side hitter Kiana Dinn and libero Mallorie Meyer. The Panthers will also welcome two commitments in the class of 2025, middle blocker/outside hitter Abbey Emch and outside hitter Samara Coleman.

Pitt opens the 2024 season on the road this year, traveling to Eugene, Oreg. to take on a talented Ducks squad that knocked off the Panthers in five sets last September and advanced to the Elite 8 in each of the past two seasons.

Awesome! Maybe Coach Fisher can give some recruiting tips to Coach Narduzzi. A fan can only dream that the Pitt football team will be able to successfully recruit the very best prospects consistently.
