Pitt offensive line coach John Peterson will have a few of his lineman graduate following the upcoming season so he’s out recruiting the next wave of Panther lineman.  Could Johnny Jordan be one of those players?

After a long wait, Washington DC 3-star lineman Johnny Jordan (6-3, 290) picked up an offer this afternoon from Pitt.

“I was really surprised by the offer”, said Jordan.  “I called Coach Powell and he said that they were really excited about me and said they were excited to offer me a scholarship. “I was really surprised by the offer. I have been talking with both Coach Powell and Coach Peterson since September 1 but we had never discussed an offer so I was surprised by this one. ”

I asked Jordan what part of his game did Coach Powell say that Pitt liked most?

“They loved the physicality and nastiness that I play with”, said Jordan. “They love me at center because I’m a smart football player, I will play any position in college to get on the field. Personally, I think that my biggest strengths are my nastiness and football IQ. I always play to the echo of the first whistle, that’s the way I have been taught to play, and I watch a lot of film and am always trying to learn more about the game to help me on the field.”

Pitt now joins Kentucky, North Carolina, Maryland, Syracuse, Memphis, Virginia, Temple and Navy as schools that have offered Jordan.

“I am currently wide open and don’t have any glaring favorites. I visited Pitt back in February for their Junior Day”, said Jordan. ” I liked to see what they had to offer and how the program is moving in the right direction. I am considering all of my options right now and Pitt is definitely one of them.”

“The Pitt program is definitely moving in the right direction. They had a great season last year and I’m interested to see how they do in this upcoming season. The intensity and passion is definitely real and good things are happening”, said Jordan.

Will Jordan choose to be a part of it in the future?  Time will tell.
