Pitt only offered Hilton Alexander II a month ago, but he’s already seen enough to include Pitt in his Top 6 — narrowing down an offer sheet that includes 24 schools.
Alexander, a 2023 three-star wide receiver from Douglas County High School in Douglasville, Georgia, named a Top 6 of Wake Forest, Western Kentucky, UNLV, Georgia Tech, Wisconsin and Pitt.

Alexander (5-foot-11, 160 pounds) has made visits to Georgia Tech and Duke this spring, and it appears that the most recent schools to jump into his recruiting chase — a variety of Power Five schools — have earned his attention.
With just one month of holding an official offer from Tiquan Underwood and Pitt, Alexander hasn’t had a chance to visit Pitt, but his interest is strong enough to warrant top contender status.
As a junior at Douglas County in 2021, Alexander caught 53 balls for 669 yards and five touchdowns.
Neither 247Sports nor Rivals has officially rated Alexander yet, but Rivals has given him a 5.6 Rivals Rating, so he’s largely skirted under the radar thus far. However, with a majority of his Power Five offers coming over the last month, he’s a prospect on the rise.
It remains to be seen whether Alexander will spend an official visit on Pitt, but Underwood and Pitt clearly have a way in — if that’s the route either side wants to take.
Pitt has landed in the finalist tier for a couple of 2023 recruits over the last few months, including three-star tight end Vance Bolyard (Greensboro, North Carolina), three-star defensive end Kamari Burns (Columbus, Ohio), three-star cornerback Jermaine Mathews (Cincinnati, Ohio), four-star defensive end Desmond Umeozulu (Upper Marlboro, Maryland), four-star offensive lineman Amir Herring (West Bloomfield, Michigan), four-star defensive end Dashawn Womack (Baltimore, Md.), three-star offensive lineman Jordan Church (Bradenton, Florida), three-star cornerback Shelton Lewis (Stockbridge, Georgia), three-star wide receiver Ayden Greene (Powell, Tennessee), four-star cornerback Braeden Marshall (Lake Mary, Florida) and three-star wide receiver Andy Jean (Miami, Florida).
Pitt’s 2023 recruiting class includes four-star quarterback Kenny Minchey (Hendersonville, Tennessee) and three-star wide receiver Zion Fowler (Jersey City, New Jersey), and the class will only grow in the next weeks and months.
