Pitt Among Finalists for 2025 3-Star Georgia Safety on Decision Day

Pitt safety target Fenix Felton

Five Pat Signals surfaced on social media Saturday as the first round of Pitt official visitors finished their trips to Pittsburgh.

One came from three-star Florida tight end Max Hunt after he confirmed his commitment with an announcement on X (formerly known as Twitter) Saturday afternoon.

That leaves four remaining commitments at this time, and while all signs point towards those coming from official visitors, there is still a possibility another target could announce his decision to join the Panthers.

One of those prospects could be Fenix Felton, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound safety out of Georgia, who will make his college decision on Sunday.

Felton — a three-star recruit — will decide between Pitt, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Georgia Southern and Liberty, Pittsburgh Sports Now has learned.

Pitt recently jumped into Felton’s recruitment with secondary coach Archie Collins and the Panthers offering him on May 8.

The Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy product put together an impressive junior campaign on the defensive side of the ball, totaling 90 tackles, 11 pass breakups, five interceptions and a sack to go along with a forced fumble and recovery. Felton’s productive season led to an All-State honorable mention.

Following the season, Felton’s recruitment picked up in January, landing his first Power Four offer from Indiana at the start of February.

Georgia Tech joined the mix in late March and looks to be a frontrunner in Felton’s process as he made the short trip into Atlanta from McDonough, Ga. for an official visit from May 31 – June 2.

If the Panthers can land Felton, he would join four-star defensive back Elijah Dotson in the class of 2025 secondary representatives up to this point.

With Dotson and Hunt, the rest of the Panthers’ commitments include Hunt, three-star offensive lineman Shep Turk (Jefferson Hills, Pa.), three-star wide receiver Tony Kinsler (Port Orange, Fla.), three-star wide receiver Bryce Yates (Chesterfield, Va.), three-star defensive lineman Trevor Sommers (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and three-star quarterback Mason Heintschel (Oregon, Ohio).
