One of the biggest voids Pitt will need to fill before next football season is that of senior placekicker Ben Sauls.
The lefty from Tipp City, Ohio was practically automatic this season as he developed into one of the best kickers in all of college football. For the season, Sauls was 18 for 21, with one of those misses being a blocked kick. From long range, Sauls was five of six, with a long of 58 yards.
Sauls was a definite weapon for Pitt and now the Panthers have the task of trying to replace his productivity. It started Monday as Pitt extended an offer to a kicker who recently placed his name in the transfer portal.
Pittsburgh Sports Now has details about the kicker, who already has a couple of ties to Pitt.
