Pitt Vs. Florida State Preview: Game Time, Betting Info, TV, Etc.

The Pitt Panthers dropped from No. 15 to No. 20 in the NET rankings after losing to No. 4 Duke. See the full NET rankings here.

On Wednesday night, Pitt will look to snap its two-game losing streak with a matchup against Florida State.

The Seminoles are currently in the top-75 of the NCAA NET rankings, so this game will be a Quad-1 opportunity for the Panthers.

Let’s dive into the game preview.

PITT’S OUTLOOK

This is one of Pitt’s lone Q1 opportunities left this season, so it is unquestionably a massive opportunity. The Panthers have fallen recently in NCAA Tournament projections down to an eight seed after spending time in the 5/6-seed range.

This win would give Pitt a third Quad 1 victory and a third road win on the season, and would be fantastic for the team’s confidence after two-straight losses (Duke and Louisville) and heading into a big matchup at home against one of the ACC’s best teams, Clemson.

FLORIDA STATE SEMINOLES (11-5, 2-3 ACC)

Head Coach: Leonard Hamilton (23rd season)

SEMINOLES REPORT

Florida State is ranked atop the ACC in several categories: steals per game, blocks per game, turnovers forced per game, and opponent three-point percentage. The Seminoles rank in the bottom half of the league in three pointers made and three-point percentage on offense, however.

Florida State is long, per usual. 6’7 Jamir Watkins is the star, averaging over 18 points per game. Malique Ewin is a classic post-up big man at 6’11, and the Seminoles also have talented forwards Taylor Bol Bowen (6’10), Jerry Deng (6’9), and Alier Maluk (7’0 WPIAL product) roaming around the court. Daquan Davis, a rookie, is the team’s lead guard alongside Watkins. Justin Thomas is the team’s best three-point shooter in terms of percentage. He comes off the bench.

METRICS
