Published

on

This weekend, Pitt will wear its throwback royal blue and bright gold uniforms.

Not just the football Panthers, but all of them.

Pitt’s football team will host Syracuse at Heinz Field at 12:20 p.m. on Saturday, but all of Pitt’s sports teams in action this weekend will sport the throwback colors.

On Friday, Pitt’s volleyball team will host Syracuse at 6 p.m. at Fitzgerald Field House, men’s soccer will host Clemson at Ambrose Urbanic Field at 7 p.m. At 8 p.m., the men’s and women’s basketball teams will practice outdoors on Bigelow Boulevard for “Courtside at the Cathedral,” the programs’ annual tip-off event held in the shadow of the Cathedral of Learning.

On Sunday, Pitt women’s soccer will host Clemson and Pitt volleyball hosts Boston College. Both of those matches will start at 1 p.m.

Pitt’s volleyball team is ranked No. 8 in the country and has started the 2018 season with 15 consecutive victories. The Panthers are 4-0 in ACC play.

The men’s soccer team is 4-5 and 1-3 in conference play after knocking off then-No. 12 NC State at home last week. Women’s soccer is 4-6-1 and is looking for its first conference win under new head coach Randy Waldrum.
