Former Pitt OC Shawn Watson Has a New College Job

Former Pitt offensive coordinator Shawn Watson has landed another job in college football.

After spending last season as an offensive quality control coach at Georgia, the long-time college assistant has accepted the job as the quarterbacks coach at Northern Iowa.

Watson served as Pitt’s offensive coordinator for two seasons from February of 2017 until January of 2019 when he was fired by Pat Narduzzi and replaced by current offensive coordinator Mark Whipple.

Northern Iowa becomes the 11th program that Watson has worked for including stops at Illinois (1985), Miami, Ohio (1987), Southern Illinois (1994), Northwestern (1997), Colorado (1999), Nebraska (2006), Louisville (2011), Texas (2014), Indiana (2016), Pitt (2017) and Georgia (2019).
