Poor Performance Leads to Disappointing Loss for Duquesne at UMass

Published

on

For the second consecutive game, Duquesne’s poor shooting did in the Dukes (15-4, 5-2) as they fell this afternoon to UMass (8-12, 2-5), 73-64.

Along with shooting just 36% from the field, Duquesne got manhandled on the board, especially offensively. The Minutemen collected 18 offensive rebounds and turned them into 16 second-chance points. For the game, UMass outrebounded the Dukes, 52-34. Another contributing factor to today’s loss was Duquesne’s poor free throw shooting as they converted just 13 of 25 shots from the line.

Duquesne dropped their second game in a row and have not won at UMass since 2011, a span of 5 games.

It doesn’t get any easier for Duquesne as their next game is Wednesday night against No. 7 Dayton at PPG Paints Arena. Tipoff is set for 7 PM and will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network.
