Pitt’s 2024 Recruiting Class Rises Inside Top 20 Following Recent Commitment

There are now five verbal commitments in Pitt’s class of 2024, all before the month of April, and the class is ranked anywhere from 18 to 28 by national outlets.

With two four-star recruits in wide receiver DayDay Farmer (Cocoa, Florida) and defensive lineman Jahsear Whittington (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) and three three-stars in running back Juelz Goff (York, Pennsylvania), and defensive linemen Ty Yuhas (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) and Francis Brewu (Columbus, Ohio), there’s a solid foundation to the class.

Here’s where the three major national outlets rank Pitt’s early class of 2024:

247Sports — 18

Rivals — 21

On3 — 28

It’s early, of course, and many will point out that all five are verbal commitments, but nonetheless, all five are currently in line to become Pitt Panthers come December.

Pitt has stocked up early on defensive linemen, which will be a need as Pitt lost five defensive linemen last season and will lose a handful more after this coming season. Whittington is the crown jewel, the first commit in the class, but he’s joined by high-upside guys in Yuhas and Brewu — who announced his commitment today.

Farmer is Pitt’s top-ranked recruit in the class, a Christmas Day present via Tiquan Underwood, and he’s the sort of shifty, speedy wide receiver that would be able to come in and make an immediate impact on the offense.

After either not landing a running back (or not having the commitment work out) for a few cycles, Pitt landed two in 2023 and quickly snapped up Goff in this cycle following his Junior Day visit.

With Pitt continuing to bring in recruits for spring practices, and official visits looming this summer, Pitt is in the process of putting together a big class in 2024.
